Good all-round sites

Hertfordshire Grid for Learning - Brilliant website offering links and resources organised by QCA module.

Wales Grid for Learning - Another fantastic site with masses of tailored content, resources and links.

primaryresources.co.uk - NGFL approved site with lesson ideas and interactive ICT-based resources across the whole curriculum.

educationcity.co.uk - Endorsed by just about everyone. This site offers activities to help you teach most aspects of English, Maths and Science using an IWB. Great stuff!

primaryideas.co.uk - A great find! Resources, lesson plans, ideas and weblinks for every curriculum area plus whole-school issues such as assessment.

educate.org.uk - A great site with links and lesson plans but its main selling point is that it is so easy to find something useful. Simply click on "schools" then "primary" and you can then go through subject areas which are divided into QCA and NC strands. You need to register but this is free.

lessonplanspage.com - If this were an English site it would have a place on the 5-Star page. There is so much here - activities, complete lesson plans and articles on improving various aspects of teaching.

One Stop Lesson Shop - This is a good start and when it's more mature it will probably enter the halls of fame. Here two English primary school teachers share resources and information that they have needed for their teaching.

Jefferson County Schools - Hundreds of PowerPoints on every subject. These are American though so watch out out for the spelling!

worldofteaching.com - This site is of a similar high standard to the Jefferson County site but English-based.

teach-nology.com/lessons - Ready-made lesson plans suitable for English classrooms with some adapatation - American site so be wary of the spellings!

teach-nology.com/worksheets - 6,000 free worksheets on most subjects - free software to create worksheets of all types.

teachingideas.co.uk - very good lesson ideas

teachingideas.co.uk/more - part of above site but with classroom management, time fillers, seasonal ideas, special needs, display and assembly topics

schoolslinks.co.uk - A well organised site with good coverage of all curriculum subjects. Loads of resources including some very well chosen weblinks.

clickteaching.com - Subscription only site with over 15,000 resources, lesson plans and worksheets.

ilovethatteachingidea.com - A directory of teaching ideas submitted by teachers.

Standards Site Primary Resources - 100's of government-approved resources for the primary classroom.

Wirral LEA - A reasonable portal site with lots of ICT-driven lesson ideas, schemes of work, useful documents plus tried and tested links.

Northumberland Grid for Learning - A particularly good GfL site packed with resources and ideas.

BBC Sites - Selected schools and educational pages from the BBC's vast website.

hamiltontrust.org.uk - primary-focussed weekly plans for maths and english plus information for NQTs and topic-based planning.

TES Resource Bank - Searchable database with hundreds of primary level activities and resources.

teachingandlearningresources.co.uk - Good KS2-based site with lots of interactive resources and PowerPoint shows aimed mainly at the core subjects but generally good. NLS/NNS references are given where appropriate. My favourite thing is the Who Wants to be a Millionaire quiz.

Department for Transport - A sequence of lessons for English, Maths, Science, Geography and ICT.

coregroupone.co.uk - site set up by primary trainees at Manchester University. This link takes you to the teaching resources page.

Activity Village - More of the same but with the addition of jokes, recipes, puzzles and downloads.

instructorweb.com - Teaching tools, resources and links.

happychild.org.uk - free resources, worksheets, inventions timeline, events calendar and accelerated learning.

Woodlands School - Similar to the Coxhoe site but more actual content than links.

Snaith Primary - Lots of topic-based content and some superb links to educational and fun sites.
